Most families have an idea of what their dream lifestyle looks like. Dave and Tracey Flynn wanted a Port Coogee home to allow their daughters to grow up with the benefits of living on the coast surrounded by the planned amenities. After extensively renovating their previous home, the Flynns were clear about the kind of design that would work for their family, so they found a block in Port Coogee, chose a builder and the process began.
Unfortunately, it was a rough start to their dream home.
“The process was excrutiatingly slow and with the builder we chose we felt we were just another number,” says Tracey. “We were seeking more of a partnership with the builder we would choose to build our dream home with. It’s a very important decision to make, and unfortunately we made the wrong choice. We made a loss financially and became disheartened.”
The Flynns made the tough decision to start again. They switched to a new builder, Webb & Brown-Neaves.
“We went back to the start with Webb & Brown-Neaves because of the quality and beautiful design of their display homes. We were fairly confident about our budget and the estimates we received were thorough and realistic. Building during tough economic times meant we got a very efficient build time, which saved us a substantial sum in rent.
