Webb & Brown-Neaves’ display home, The Amour, is a French modern architectural gem inspired by the spectacular streets of Paris. But while the façade is stunning and elegant, often it’s the little things that really bring the home’s character to life.

We spoke to Laura Gray from Reece Bathrooms about the design of the bathroom spaces in The Amour, and how they were influenced by current bathroom trends.

“My role in creating this beautiful display home was helping to share expertise on design trends in the bathroom and kitchen space,” Laura said. “This was an exciting project for me, and I love working with such a creative builder who are passionate and always at the forefront of design.”

For the bathrooms in the home, Laura was excited to help implement a French design with the team at WB.

“French Parisian was my design brief which ties in perfectly with what we call Neo Classic. A design which is elegant, beautiful, timeless and which has been around for years but is always, always in our top five as it never goes out of style.”

In the bathrooms, you’ll find features that are currently trending in the architecture world in the tapware, showers and basins.

“There is Milli Pure black wall mounted progressive tapware in the bathrooms. Black is the most popular colour option, which was been used in The Amour – the added benefit is that it has water saving technology,” Laura said.

“Bi-coloured Alape basic, white and black basins also feature in the bathrooms, which support the monochrome feel of the house. There is also an Alape freestanding wall basin in black, a huge feature piece for the powder room.”

Even the showers are designed to suit the elegant design of the home. “There are two showers; a handheld for day-to-day, and a flush mount rain shower for absolute luxury.”

For Laura, she always has a favourite feature in a WB display home. In The Amour, it’s the extravagant freestanding bath in the master ensuite.

“The reason I love this feature is the flexibility with the outlets location as it is floor mounted with the additional functionality of a head piece for the perfect wash,” she said.

“This allows the freestanding bath to be placed in the centre of this luxurious space creating functional areas with the space allowed and making it feel completely luxurious.”

And as always, the innovative nature of both WB and Reece Bathrooms means the bathrooms feature smart-technology in ways that enhance the feeling of relaxation throughout the space.

“The master ensuite features a Roca In-wash Inspira-toilet. This is an amazing toilet which has smartly integrated modern bidet functions into a standard suite. It looks amazing and brings a new level of hygiene to the bathroom space.”

We asked Laura for her top tips for creating a style like this yourself.

“Pick a shape and a colour and run with it throughout the bathrooms, including the accessories and small accents like handles. Be consistent throughout the home in the shape and profile of a product,”

“This also applies with textures; you can see the matte finish both in the basins and following through to the bath. Keep consistent and think about what you want to feel when you’re in that space.”

The Amour display home is now closed.
