Justin and Belinda Martin had always wanted to build their dream home. Their busy schedules with Justin an oil and gas specialist and Belinda an executive chef and restaurant owner, plus both of them training intensively for Justin to enter an Iron Man competition, meant that it wasn’t a top priority. Until their daughter was born.

“The house we lived in when Courtney was born didn’t have the clean open plan living that we wanted for our family,” said Justin. “We’ve always wanted to build and it was important to us that our house be built to our own tastes and requirements.”
“We’ve been in love with Webb & Brown-Neaves homes for a long time. The display homes felt really homely and we liked the quality and resale value of Webb & Brown-Neaves homes. We also liked the Webb & Brown-Neaves sales staff we met. Overall, the design was the biggest selling point for us, having the ability to make changes and customise the plans.”

Justin and Belinda worked with Building and Design Consultant Rita Gatenby to create a plan that perfectly suited their needs. Then they consulted Resolve Finance to help make their dream home a reality.
“We decided to look into Resolve after complaining to Rita about the lack of service we were getting from our bank, considering we’ve been with them for 12 years. Rita suggested we contact Resolve, so we met Phil and instantly felt at ease. We’re still dealing with the same bank and got the same deal, but Phil has handled everything much like a private bank manager. He also works with Webb & Brown-Neaves regularly and understands what’s involved with the building process.”

While the construction is under way, the Martins have begun working on their pool and backyard design. “We are using all Webb & Brown-Neaves recommended contractors and the team have definitely assisted in this process. Our building supervisor met with our pool contractor to work out the best design for our block, as it’s going to be an area the whole family use for many years to come.”
“We can’t wait to move in. This will be our family home for a long time, even after our daughter has grown up and moved out.”

Top tips from the Martins
• Choose your builder wisely. The cheapest option is not always the best option.
• Look at a builder’s existing homes and see how they present five or ten years later.
