PARADISE FOR A BUSY FAMILY.

Meet Neil and Joyce Hutchison. He’s a general manager of geology in the mining industry. She’s a scientist turned busy mother. With two school-aged sons, Neil’s regular travel for work and the time they spend volunteering with the boys’ school and Cub Scouts, they’re a very busy family.

When Neil and Joyce decided they needed more room for their family, they knew they wanted a streamlined solution. They decided to build a home for the second time with Webb & Brown-Neaves.
“With the two boys growing up and lots of big boys’ toys around, we needed more space,” said Neil. “We had a deteriorating investment property that needed expensive repairs so that provided the perfect opportunity for us to bowl it over and build our dream home.” The busy Hutchisons soon found a Webb & Brown-Neaves display home they liked. “We loved the Sundowner display but wanted to make a few changes to the floor plan. So our Building + Design Consultant, Kim Gartrell, incorporated these ideas to create a home that suited our requirements and our lifestyle.”

Neil and Joyce noticed some changes building with Webb & Brown-Neaves a second time. “It was a good experience when we built back in 2004 but it was even better this time. The design and prestart processes were really streamlined and the house fit-out and finishes are better than ever. There were also a lot of extras we didn’t expect would be included. Webb & Brown-Neaves are certainly thinking ahead and future-proofing their clients’ needs.”

The Hutchisons enjoyed the building process again this time. “We worked with a great team from sales and design through to prestart. Our building supervisor, Ray Barclay, took it through to completion and our home was built on time and on budget. There was attention to detail all theway through.” “We now have a great home for living and entertaining. We have enough space for all our family and friends to be together or we can each do our own thing in separate areas and not be in each other’s way. Why go on holidays when we have it all at home?”

Top tips from the Hutchisons.
• Know your block. Take its location, the sun and wind direction, trees and vegetation and the outlook over neighbouring properties into account.
• Choose the right design to make the most of any views and enjoy Perth’s great outdoor lifestyle.
• Don’t be afraid to alter floor plans and talk through your options with the sales and design team.
