Our latest display home, The Highline, features the latest in bathroom innovation.

Did you know singing in the shower can actually improve your immune system, while also positively influencing your emotional state? Take that moment of solitude and cleansing to sing your heart out, and revel the many benefits the LOOX Multi-Dimensional Mirror by Hafele offers a functional and stylish bathroom. It features a touchscreen-operated Bluetooth audio system with inbuilt speakers as well as front and back lighting.

We spoke to Laura Gray from Reece Bathrooms about the latest cutting-edge and sustainable bathroom technology featured in the home.

“For this project, our brief was New York style, which is well known for its urban aesthetic. This style teams beautifully with the use of contrasting materials and finishes to ooze style and sophistication,” she said.

When delivering the features to meet The Highline’s brief, the Reece Bathroom team wanted to ensure that the products were on trend, provided the latest in sustainable solutions and also stood the test of time.

“When it came to the tapware selections, we wanted products that not only would look perfectly in place, but also embodied the element of timelessness.”

A survey conducted by Reece Bathrooms of clients who have built or renovated in the last 2 years shows that when it comes to choosing coloured tapware, chrome still reigns supreme in Australian households. Although chrome is still seen as the number one choice for consumers, coloured finishes are growing year after year allowing people to really personalise their bathroom spaces.

“Using coloured tapware such as black, instantly draws the eye allowing the remainder of the bathroom to support the look.”

At the centre of The Highline design brief was the importance of including sustainable bathroom products that exuded luxury and enhanced water and energy efficiency.

According to Reece Bathrooms, the best way to ensure you are being water efficient in your taps, shower heads, toilets and other bathroom fittings is to pay attention to the WELS rating. The National Water Efficiency Label and Standards (WELS) scheme was created to allow consumers to make more informed decisions about their products. The more WELS stars a product has, the more water efficient the product is.

“The Mili Axon tapware that’s featured throughout the home, has a 6 Star WELS rating, the highest rating in tapware in Australia, which provides the best sustainable choice to reduce your water bill.”

Mili Axon taps start on a low cold flow and doesn’t engage the hot water unit unless turned completely to hot, meaning energy is not wasted every time the tap is turned on.

“Having tapware with progressive technology is an excellent way to not only save you water, but also saves you money on your water bill.”

You will find water efficient solutions throughout The Highline from the tapware to the toilets. Including American Standard Acacia E toilets which feature rimless technology to reduce cleaning and a vortex flushing system to ensure maximum performance and reduced water consumption.

The Highline’s master ensuite also features some innovative technology from Roca. The ensuite features a Roca In-Wash® Inspira Smart Toilet which has the latest technology in washing, drying and self-cleaning functionalities.

“In a home like The Highline, new technology like the smart toilet was imperative, modernising the home and providing luxury and comfort for users and guests.”

One of Laura’s favourite bathroom features is the LAUFEN Kartell Freestanding Basin, located in the home’s powder room.

“When it comes to creating a powder room, it’s always important to remember that this is the most visited room for guests, so it’s a great room to have a knock-out feature piece like this freestanding basin,” she said.

The powder room basin features LAUFEN Clean Coat technology, ensuring the surface is exceptionally hard and easy to clean, preserving its great looks.

“The products in Webb & Brown-Neaves’ homes always meet Australian standards alongside being innovative and sustainable to reflect the latest in home design and technology.”
