Into his tenth year as a Designer at Webb & Brown-Neaves, with years of experience in his field, architecture and home design are second nature to Nopphol Sriyoo, who is affectionately known to his colleagues as ‘Nopps.’

Nopps was always into art, leading him to pursue a career in architecture and building design. “In school I was always drawing cartoons,” he said.

“That led me into Art.This piqued my interest in Architecture and Building Design, so I chose to study Building Design and Drafting.”

After graduating with a Diploma of Building Design and Drafting, Nopphol spent several years working for some of Perth’s largest building companies, before making the natural progression to Webb & Brown-Neaves.

“My experience has given me significant knowledge to draw from, and my ability to problem solve allows me to work out creative design solutions quickly.”

Something Nopphol loves about working for Webb & Brown-Neaves is the people he works with. “I get to work with incredibly talented and creative people which creates a fun work environment. We have some staff who have been working at WB for over twenty years and others that have come from other professional backgrounds, not just building. This is so valuable in making sure we deliver an exceptional client experience, but it also keeps us fresh and innovative when it comes to home design.”

Webb & Brown-Neaves’ in-house design team ensures the initial stages of the building process are smooth for all clients. “It’s great for the Building & Design Consultants to have immediate access to a design team,” he said.

“Things can be resolved quickly on the spot. It’s important for clients to be able to meet their personal designer to build a relationship, giving clients confidence and input into the design process to create their own dream home.”

Nopphol’s main tip for those in the design stage of their building journey is to know exactly what your dream home looks like.

“Create a wish list with your ‘wants’ and ‘must-haves.’ Create a folder of inspiration pictures of things you love, as well as places you love the look or feel of,” he said.

“This will help your designer to really understand what your dream home looks like, to ensure the best result is achieved.”

Of all the homes he has designed over the years, one that has resonated with Nopphol is a three-storey home on West Coast Drive in Marmion.

A challenging design on a sloping site, the block had been in the family for over twenty years, and Nopphol was able to help them create their forever home.

Nopphol was invited to attend the key handover, which was an emotional time filled with excitement, joy, and gratitude.

“I really enjoyed working on this plan because not only did it have a magnificent view, but it was also a rather challenging, sloping block,” he said.

“It was such a thrill to see the client so happy at handover as they got to walk into their dream home after all those years they spent dreaming of it.

Seeing the joy on their faces really made my day and highlighted why I love what I do.”
